Another welcome to the stage. Couple of things to get you going. If you reply to a particular persons thread, use the Quote reply so that we know who or what you're repling to. The chit chat is for anything non fish related and it's very entertaining, just shy away from political conversations. Hope you share pictures of your catches and adventures.

Welcome. I live in Sandpoint and right now there's a lot of ice fishing going on . Can't tell you how it's going. I'm wolf trapping which doesn't leave much time for fishing.

I am a trapper too and used to live in Blanchard. Some of us have been hearing of some 14" pearch in PdO in front of condos. We are wondering if that is Condo del Sol.

From what I gather from my fishing buddies they seem to be scattered. I personally haven't fished them yet. They will school prior to spawning at some point in time. The guys with the electronics are finding them but even they say they move often. All you can do is try. Good luck, hope you catch a bunch

Just curious, are you in the area where the big a$$ hybrid wolves were introduced ? I scanned an article about them earlier last year, I think in National Geographic or Scientific American and kinda forgot to pursue it any further. Sounded like it wasn't a great idea. Maybe there's a bounty now ? No matter, the hides will be huge ! Good Luck, and be safe....

Here in Northern Idaho they have introduced timber wolves, I'm not sure of the linage. We have caught some 150 -175 lbs. They seem very aggressive and have really decimated the elk herd. Basically open all year and any method. They are reproducing at an alarming rate. 25 packs within 50 miles of home.

I live in Cle Elum, WA. They introduced wolves here about 10 years ago. Now our deer and Elk herds are almost non existent. Indians now have hunting rights on the 50,000 acres the state bought, and they randomly kill the bulls for their horns. You can imagine my frustration having moved here because this was where I hunted when I lived on the Westside. I now travel 100 miles to hunt. Isn’t wonderful that the ignorance of some groups have brought back Grizzly bears and wolves. I’ve crossed paths with 3 wolves hiking with my dogs. I now have to carry a weapon when I hike in my back yard.

With the coyotes, cougars, bears, bobcats and now the wolves we're lucky to have any elk and deer . Fish and game shortened the seasons and implemented chose your weapon to counteract all this. Doesn't seem to be helping
No longer do we have herds of elk. I see groups of 3 or 4 when 10 yrs ago I saw herds or dozens of elk.

There are way fewer moose in N Idaho than before the wolves got well established, but a lot of them have moved into urban areas to get away from the wolves. Saw a cow and two calves on the outskirts of Rathdrum this evening.
