That sounds great Fred. We heard Pink Floyd in '88 when they played Hughes Stadium, less than a mile from our home. Debbie and I sat on our front porch, just like having them medium low on the stereo. We had at lot of great shows at our Memorial Auditorium, I think 2500 seats. Rick Wakeman, Jefferson Starship, Zapa, Mountain, the dead, Commander Cody, montrose, many more. Easy outing, just minutes from home. We had a lot of fun here as kids.
The smaller halls were definitely more intimate. We also had some great clubs nearby, that national acts would visit. The Rolling Stones warmed up for a tour one year at Toad's Place in New Haven. There will never be another era like the one we grew up in.
