Ford put a lot of chemicals in drums, floated them out in the lake on a barge, and dumped them. The drums are now rusting thru and the chemicals are slowing being released. Many other companies have done this, but Ford might have been the first.
It seems to me the advisories are in place to allow those chemicals to weaken to tolerable levels in order to resume consumption of the fish in the restricted waterways. The length of time it has already taken would then suggest the chemicals are pretty harsh. It may take twice as long for fish populations to rebound after the chemical effects dissipate, if ever. Were in for a long ride 🤦🏿
