lotta contaminated ground in some rural areas. 2 me its just another thing used to scare people. i tell all my tree huggin buddies [both of em]. i grew up in the 50s and saw all the crap goin on. most of it was stopped long ago and cant be fixed now. best 2 make sure we dont ever treat our land and water like a trash dump or toilet ever again and clean up what we can. btw; i was in the scouts; we called ourselves CONSERVATIONISTS
side note; any yall back in the day ever go across the raritan river bridge in nj? nuff said

Yes, moved here to Metropolitan NYC area in 1980. My parents retired to Kearny NJ [meadowlands]. A guy took me into the meadowlands where he caught carp and catfish. I joked if he'd ever caught one with two heads or three eyes [The Simpsons]. Hudson River was pretty gross then too but they really have done a lot clean up what GE and other companies have done to contaminate. I'm sure some heartless, greedy corporate executives are still saying "dump it at night when no one is around" but see for myself it is cleaner.

This may be a media blitz to keep people from fishing. We are overfishing I believe but rather than pick on us the media and "tree huggers" should go after commercial fishing and put tighter boundaries on size, and also keep other countries from fishing so close to shore. I am a CONSERVATIONIST and do everything in my power to clean and keep our planet livable... And have no doubt almost everyone on this Stage does too~ That's MY rant.

So you get your water from the city, big deal. That water was raw sewage before being cleaned with many chemicals, over and over again in a water treatment plant.

I'm 77 and if I can prolong my life by either avoiding certain foods or by being active with exercise etc then why not? Just as important is the quality of years as opposed to quantity. I always find it amusing when individuals will turn their back on science in favor of a feeling that they have on a topic.

Science is what ever someone pays for the scientists to find to suit their needs.
If they can’t find anything they fake it. Or they won’t get paid.

This thing of ours is dangerous!

Dang! DANG!! I've been catch and release for so long, I'm hopin all the contaminants have worshed out, hopefully without doin damage along the way. I agree with other stagers, tho, if everything that's been deemed hazardous hasn't busted my worm by now, surely things'll be ok. Now I'm craving a plate full of fried crappie or bassfish. 🎣

How different or safer are the fish caught and consumed in northern Ontario and Manitoba? Hundreds of miles from industry or the farmers fertilizer. Only airborne effects.

Does Japan India etc have Mercury and Nuclear Wastes Chemicals like where the mentioned locations do? You can ignore it and dream up that it’s false but then live with the results. I prefer to appreciate educated people telling me about things that can help me be healthier and live longer.

All those drugs are going in the water and coffee we eat. Just think of all the things already there more people as time progresses and more new chemicals and drugs. Can only imagine how polluted our planet will be in 200 more years. I won’t be around but it’s mind boggling
