Advice about Green Bay is right on especially if you want to hook a monster. East or West side. More civilization on the east side especially Sturgeon Bay. Plenty of VRBO and AirBnB. Boat rental. If you want “smaller” water I’d move to some of the chains in Wi., Minocqua, Manitowish (my personal favorite), or is f you want some wilderness feel, Chippewa Flowage or the Turtle Flambeau.

The Peshtigo, WI area, especially the Peshtigo River is hot in the Spring, during spawning time, It cools off in the Summer and early Fall.
