I would like to hear of surf fishing on Cocoa beach. I plan to visit for a week at the end of February.
Should be good. The usual baits (shrimp, sand fleas, cut bait etc) should put fish on for you. I like slip sinker rigs because some of the fish are light biters. Look for deeper water and other fisherpersons

I used to fish Cocoa Beach every February and regularly caught whiting, pompano the occasional blue fish and lots of catfish. As stated already use shrimp because just about everything in Florida eats shrimp.
If you can find some bull minnows, they are great for flounder in shallow water around structure. As the water temperature creeps up into the high 60s more and more fish will start turning on. Right now it's mostly specs and Pompano Ensure and of course wahoo, sailfish and tuna offshore.
