Hello my son and I are learning to fly fish and looking for winter fishing areas to explore. Any tips on places and flies to try are welcome!
After the last few weeks there are no open waters around....Have to wait till spring around here, unless you change up to ice fishing.
I do lots of fishing around Longmont, Boulder,Loveland and most streams ,rivers and creeks. Pouder river with midges in spring is about the best ,Second would be South Platte near Decker's.Third would be Clear Creek In the canyon.
Welcome please show me pics of how you do
If you wanna practice with some standing water, Carter lake stays pretty open. Water is crazy low though.
You can fish tail waters all winter long. Below Dillon, Spinney, Frying Pan or Taylor are also options. Roaring Fork at Glenwood is another option.
