Hello all, I’m fishing all over Cape Cod MA with a focus in Pleasant Bay. I am pretty new to the area in terms of fishing. I’m wondering about winter fishing, is there anything around and if so what should I be using to catch them. Any help would be awesome.

Welcome to the Stage Cris checkout the guys at On The Water magazine they have all the info you need Goose Humock also. What do like to fish for freshwater? Saltwater?

Hi, I don’t really have a preference and it has only been saltwater so far.

welcome aboard. only place I've fished salt this late is Scortons creek in sandwich. mostly catch shad, looking for sea run browns.

Welcome Cris! I do a lot of trout fishing from shore, and from my kayak on the local ponds. Nickerson state park has three ponds that hold good trout and they stock the ponds 2 to 3 times every year. Sheeps Pond, Goose pond and Bakers pond are my secondary spots. I use small Kastmaster, Colorado spoons in gold and #5 jointed floating Rapalas. Best of luck and touch base with me next summer if you want to fish in my boat on the bay.

Kenny, Thank you very much! That’s very helpful. I live in Orleans. I would love to go out on the water, I am solely fishing from shore.

What kind of lure or bait are you using?

We have shiners and chubs for trout and bass fishing fresh water. Bay side may have some hold over stripers.
