40 some years ago my young family and in-laws went to the Potholes Reservoir to do some water skiing. My daughter was a tiny one at the time and we had a time keeping her on the blanket away from the sand. She would scoop up handfuls of sand and eat it.

Some Mexicans were across from us on the little bay we shared. They were fishing and maybe 150 feet away. You ought to have seen the scowls they gave us as we set up and began water skiing.

After about an hour one of them came over and said to me. "Before you came in and began water skiing we hadn't caught anything. Now we've all limited out."

I bought 228 cans of corn this year. Worked great. Caught lots of bluegills with single kernels on a gold hook with no weight or bobber. Many fish hit the gold hook with no bait on it.

If you do catch and release you should use whit corn as the yellow can not be digested by fish and the white can

Frank remeo,
I'm the only fisherman in my family. I sent your message to them, and even though they don't fish there though your story was hilarious 🤣.
The general rule at our house. Dad ( me ) will catch it, clean it and cook it. Then everyone will eat it.
I gripe and complain, but they all know that I wouldn't have it any other way.

My family all love to fish except 1 daughter. Youngest lives in Temecula CA and takes her daughter and son fishing with her. Sometimes she goes by herself. Son goes fly fishing ever time he can. He is a good cook. Daughter does catch and release

My brother said I should relay this story about myself.
I have a Lactose intolerance problem. I don't get bloated or uncomfortable like some people do. I just get really rank gas. I'm eather nose blind or just used to it.
The morning of our fishing experience I ate a big bowl of cereal with, of course, milk
We were on a small two person paddle boat. Each facing the opposite direction.
After a couple of hours my brother said " Here we are on this beautiful lake, clear skies, you can see the tree line reflection on the water, the fish are bitting and all I can smell is your a**."

I did get a birthday card from him with a cartoon mouse on the front. Inside it read " I told you to cut the cake, not the cheese!"

This story was told to me when I was a youth.
First a little background. My mother's father was a Consevation Officer in Jay County Indiana. His name was James Dallas Pitzer. He was murdered by a poacher when I was 3 years old. ( 60 years ago ) To this day he is the only Indiana Conservation Officer shot and killed while on duty.
Every year the Pitzer award is given to the Outstanding Conservation Officer of the year.
On with the humorous story:
After my mother and father were married my Dad and Grandpa used to hunt together. Ine night they were Raccoon hunting. The possession limit at that time was 5. They spotted some Raccoons in a tree and shot. When they got done there were 6 dead coons at the base of the tree. My father said " Well Pitzer your the law" my Grandfather answered " Just shut up and put them in the trunk"

I had nothing better to do, so I went with my wife when she got her hair done. Being retired isn't all fun and games.
In one of the beautician stalls was this sign " Of you give a man a fish, he will eat for a day. If you teach a man to fish, you can get rid of him for a weekend" . All three of us laughed and agreed.
Yes the beautician's husband was a fisherman.

This would go under sad but true. This last weekend I attend the Indiana Boat and Travel Show in Indy, talked with a Musky Charter Service and decided to give it a try. I didn't have the money at the time, so my family decided to give me a birthday gift of $ 1200 to cover the expenses.
My pickup truck had been making a rattling noise and on the way home it got much worse with each turn and bump. Convinced that I had a wheel bearing going out I took it to my mechanic.
Boy was I wrong. It was the compressor and if I hadn't brought it in when I did it would have blown completely. Cost to replace $ 1158. Now I have to save up to go maybe next year. Commander Bell out
