So y'all are upriver from the 160 bridge, right?

Steve... to fish the Big Break area you can launch from Rio Vista, head downriver into 3 mile slough and then head downriver on the SJ into Big Break. Once you hit the SJ you in really good Striper water.

Went out of big break today
Hit the water at 930
Off at 330
Wife and dad caught a few stripers
Wife 16” right away
Dad 16” 9” 4”
Me not even a bite
They were using night crawlers
I was throwing white hair raisers
Popper ..frogs… just trying to enjoy my bait castor
Then got my bait pole out
Tried mackerel for awhile then night crawlers
Not my day
But sure beat the hell out of work

Looked like a fine day DD! I like the bet, may have to implement it on my boat when I’m fishing, keep things competitive and fun!

Hey No Cal Steve are there public launching facilities at big break marina? Or closer than the ramp at Rio Vista. That ramp is a pain in the butt when inundated with the sea grass, hydrenda and sea kelp especially at high tide.

Hey still the big break ramp not bad unless it’s low tide
Then it’s a pain in the butt
Water at 5 to 10 feet until you get to the river

My bad... I thought you were telling Saw it was an extra 30 mile drive to get to the launch at big break. I've never launched there so I have no idea.

Yes, there is one and I misunderstood the post. You are right about Rio Vista and in the past have only used it to fish Sherman Island area. Normally I launch out of B&W or Paradise. This Spring I plan on using Tiki Lagoon to fish Whiskey slough and Mildred Island for the first time. I think Wimpy's will work as I explore the North Delta for the first time. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Antioch has a couple of ramps and there's one in Pittsburg also.

Thanks for the info... I need to Google and see what the drive is like. I live right at the North end of 505. I can see a lot of ramps on my Navionics that look great. It's the getting to them that I need to research.

Hey Saw
160 is a good 35 miles away from where we launched
Wife always out fishes me
Took year to get her on boat
Taught her to fish
Now she loves it

Not trying to be a Dick here, but 160 is the highway that
Seperates Antioch from Oakley and goes on to rio vista etc. aka the antioch bridge. You can see highway 160 from bigbreak as soon as you clear the tules on your left. So the correct answer to the question is maybe ½ mile away…
