If you’re headin’ for the Hills, go to Pactola or Sheridan off Hwy 385 N of Mount Rushmore. Deerfield lake can be good NW of Hill City, too.
If it is during a high pressure system fish deep, if low, fish just a couple feet below the ice. Good luck!
OJdidit’s advice is spot on. Trout fishing in Custer State Park’s Center Lake has been good as well. Limiting (5 trout) last week (4 times out) within about an hour and a half.
Used corn and salmon eggs.
Happy fishing! (Dress warm. COLD through Christmas is forecast and wind has been relentless last couple of days.)
Thanks for the help, anyone got anything around the Thompson lake area? It's closer and still a 4hr drive.
