Hello everyone ! My name is Derrick. I’m a retired firefighter from Ohio and I love salt water fishing. My wife and I moved to St. Petersburg FL four years ago after I retired and now all I do is fish a lot. I’ve been fishing since the age of 9 so I consider myself a pretty seasoned angler, but still learning. As we all know that you can never stop learning especially when it comes to saltwater fishing. I’m a firm believer of Learn, Teach and Lead. So whatever fishing knowledge I have gained throughout the years, I’m happy to share. After all that’s how we all can become better fisherman by spreading our knowledge. Anyway just thought I’d officially introduce myself.

I’m a new transplant from Pennsylvania now in Lakewood ranch.
Just saw that st Pete beach hauled away 1500 pounds of dead fish from the beaches because of red tide.
No one is sure when the red tide will dissipate. Maybe I’ll see you on skyway pier one day. Pretty relaxing and easier because you can drive right up to where you want to fish. Tight lined
