I love hard water fishing as well as open water fishing in the north woods of Wisconsin.

Being it is winter time and hard water fishing is hot right now with 5-6 inches of ice.

I am looking for any one with a fishing report on fishing the Sugar Camp Chain in Oneida County.

Any one with a report would be greatly appreciated.

I haven’t seen too many on this forum who fish that area. Your best bet is to contact the local bait shops in Rhinelander, Three Lakes or Eagle River. They ought to be able to help with up to date intel. You can always check the WI Outdoor News, too!

Kjr... Lol... at first I was scratching my head and thinking what in the heck is hard water fishing? Once I figured it out I checked my priority list and sure enough, no change. 999 items have a higher priority than ice fishing!

There are a few that have fished in Northern WI, but not many. It seems to be our little secret…and I am okay with that. 😉 Good luck, and I hope you find some decent info from the bait shops or some locals!

Welcome Ken, had a friend that loved hard water fishing and talked up a trip to do so, but he moved to the mid-west before we could go. We don’t have the same kind of hard water here. Our water is considered hard because of the amount of limestone it runs through. Doesn’t lather worth a hoot.
