Hi Guys, being relatively new to NC, I would appreciate some of your local knowledge. I can fish both the Surf City & Seaview fishing piers in December/January. Can you suggest what target species should be around during these months - Trout, Red/Black Drum, Sheepshead, Sea Mullet, Spot? Based on Troy's recent advice I know to use fresh shrimp for most of them (with WD-40 of course!). Thanks in advance for any advice you can share.

The seaview pier is cheaper, but they have a nice pier. The restaurant is closed. Not sure if they will reopen. We went to Thomas seafood and got fresh shrimp to use. It's cheaper and better quality than the pier bait. A neat website to see the pier cameras is www.surfchex.com. You can actually see if they are catching fish or not on the surf city pier.Good luck.

Hi Pressure drop, thanks for your message. I haven't tried Seaview pier yet but I plan to in the near future. Cheaper and nice sounds good to me. I appreciate the advice!

Hey TW, Ithink I told you wrong. The surf city pier is cheaper than the Seaview, but they both are nice. If you go to the seaview after 9PM, the ticket is good for the next day.

Thanks Pd for the update. The Seaview pier with their after 9pm/next day deal sounds good, I can go for that.

Hello WS, I had the same question. I became a believer when I saw it work in person. A friend sprayed it on fresh shrimp and caught croakers and a nice red! It didn't take too long either. Troy first introduced me to using WD-40. Give it a try.
