My wife has never shown any internet in going fishing with me. We live on the north end of Wolf Bay, a back bay, in Elberta, AL, and I go quite often. Well she went to Round Top, TX with a friend a few weeks ago to attend that huge antique show, and stayed with her friend’s brother. A friend of brother has a large lake next door. They went fishing in the lake and she caught two bass, and now she is a fishing expert.

Yesterday a friend and I were going fishing in my boat, but he had to drop out at the last minute. She is a planner (does nothing without painstaking planing) and when I asked her to go I really had no idea she would. Well, to my surprise she enthusiastically said yes.

I have always heard taking a woman on a boat is bad luck. Not sure of that but had to charge the battery (fairly new and first charge needed) and for the first time in 20 years my motor was a little slow to crank. Finley pushed away from the dock about an hour late. Went about a mile and dropped anchor at one of my favorite spots. Didn’t catch anything but did enjoy the conversation and being out doors. Decided to move to a new spot and motor would not crank. Had the battery booster along and grand that down; still nothing. Started back home using the trolling motor when a kind soul came by and gave us a tow home.

I would never tell her I think she si bad luck, buttt? As a friend on the forum would put it, “Just sayin.”
