If I'm not mistaking, a license to fish saltwater off the land or structure is free. But you still need the license, technically.

If you fish off a boat, then the license costs money.

If you are 65+ or under 16 no. Otherwise yes. Florida has separate saltwater and freshwater licenses.

Riggs Was NC always that way? Use to go to Nags Head often. Never had a license. Wardens ride around but never saw them check anyone. Now I haven't been there for over 20 yrs 👍

I think it started maybe 15 or 20 years ago. When it began the Sportsman license (fishing, hunting and game land license) was grandfathered in. I think it is now included there. You can also just buy a salt water license.

I am over 65 years old (way over). Do I need a Florida license to fish freshwater? - saltwater? - brackish?. I need a definitive response as I have been carded several times and the Warden never said anything about not needing a license.

Thanks for info brother. MD has so many regs it's ridiculous. Bay license tidal water freshwater n I'm guessing saltwater also by now. Pa has many special regulations places. Anywhere you go you better read th book. 👍👍

I misstate a little before. If you are a resident of Florida you would not need either a salt or freshwater license. Nonresidents will still need a license.

You need a license in Florida to fish in salt, fresh or even a mud puddle. They are reasonable for residents. Get the combo fresh/salt and you'll be happy with your purchase. I would also throw in the snook permit. Enjoy.

If you are 65+ AND A RESIDENT, fish and hunt for free.Gotta love it the way FL takes care of us seniors. One of the VERY few advantages of gettin' old. In CA you could be 150 yrs. old, you'd still pay.

Sun bum Pa is like that one time fee for lifetime fishing n hunting license. I take advantage of whatever Sr discounts I can. 👍🎣
