I'm going to be staying in Dania Beach from January through April. What are the license requirements for fresh and salt water fishing. I'm 72 years old and a 100 percent disabled Veteran. Also any good spots for fishing. Don't have access to a boat.

Out-of-state fishing and hunting licenses are not valid in Florida.
A fishing license is required to attempt to take fish. If you cast a line or catch and release, you need a license.
A saltwater fishing license is required to attempt to take any native or nonnative marine organisms, such as crabs, lobsters, and marine plants.
Visitors who are listed on the National Saltwater Angler Registry are still required to have a Florida recreational saltwater fishing license unless they are a member of one of the exempted groups listed.[Veterans not on the list, sorry, and thank you for your service!]
You can go online and check out / purchase license stuff myfwc.com

Over 65 not required to have a license in Florida. One of the few perks of getting old.
Good to know about not needing a license. Now I want to find some good bass fishing. Also what could I expect to catch in the canals?

As far south as you are there should be some peacock bass in the canals. Just use your regular lmb gear for them. Watch for alligators, though. They WILL be there.
