Don't think I ever seen one of those before. Is it white flakey meat on the inside?

It is white and firm. Other folks call them white perch or crappie. Those had been on ice overnight and lost thier pretty colors.

My neighbor had an oysters roast Sat. Night and didn't want any left overs so I got two bushes of oysters from him and just got through shuckin and putting them in the freezer. Been a busy weekend at my house. Imagine member if Harris Teeter,s Fresh Seafood Club and ordered 10 cold water lobsters. Cleaned and vacuum sealed 8 for the freezer. I'm ready for the winter.

Gordon the definition of sacalait is White Crappie. Yes the meat is real tasty and flaky.
It was named sacalait by the Indians in Louisiana.

My memory is coming back a little. I remember a stager from Louisiana talking about the origin of that name awhile back.
Hey Gordon, you mentioned getting them at the docks. Where is that? What seafood company?

Can you give a connection to this seller?
Hey Gordon,
You've been quiet recently. Sitting around eating those delicious whiting, red fish, oysters and those great creek shrimp? I haven't seen you posting since you showed us those cooler almost full to capacity, and those few jumbo shrimp. Can't beat the taste of the shrimp caught in the creeks..distinct taste!
