My trailer needs some bearing repair due to salt water and bearing buddy zerks not allowing grease into the hubs. Any suggestions on where I can take it to have them replaced?

A reputable marine repair shop. A bad bearing on a trip can sure ruin the day πŸ‘

Can't answer, but have some info about trailers if they break down while towing. My son has AAA road side assistance. His trailer broke an axel on an interstate. When the tow truck came they said he was not covered since he did not buy the coverage when he signed up. They never mentioned it at time of purchase. I am dine with AAA.

I have Boatus saltwater package. Cost $165.00 a year but worth it if you break down 50 miles offshore. They have a freshwater package for $99.00. You add $15.00 and your trailer is covered on the highway. Check it out. Hope this helps you out.

Rayz I've had AAA for yrs now n no problems. I'll agree with you they should tell you what ea level offers. I have the premium it still doesn't cover anything I'm towing. Like most places they hand you the papers n expect you to read every word. Shouldn't be that why but it is πŸ‘

Almost any garage can replace your hubs and bearings. I drilled through the side between the bearings, put in a grease fitting and pumped grease between inner and outer bearings, pumped grease in several times during the season, pulled trailer 20+ years and never had a problem. Bearing Buddies only fill outer bearings with maybe some dirty contaminated grease reaching the inner bearings. Think about what I said, but my 20+ years is a pretty good logic.

I have AAA but you have to get the RV plus axle hanger busted on the freeway tow is good for hundred miles. They did load trailer with boat on it 19ft boat.

Same thing happened to my son. AAA said he could purchase additional coverage at time of service call for sixty five dollars. He purchased it, but when the flat bed showed up two hours later he would not tow the Hundred miles and charged to tow to a repair shop.

About bearing buddies: I don't consider them to be a way to lube the bearings, so I disassemble, clean, inspect and grease by hubs every year or two. The way I use the bearing buddies is that every time I'm taking the boat out, I put a bit of grease into each hub. The spring in the bearing buddy compresses and pressurizes the hub so that no water is going to get in. Depending on how often you do this, that makes a lot of grease. There's one more reason to disassemble and clean every year. Too much grease can give you problems, too! By the way, I also consider it mandatory to replace the seals when I service them. Most of us have seen the mess created by grease leaking from the seal as the trailer is being towed.
