Jim,
If you own or can borrow an underwater camera, bring one with. It will make your day much more enjoyable and exciting to watch what is going on and you will learn a lot about fish habits. This is where underwater cameras are most beneficial because you can fix them in position on the ice and constantly monitor your bait. I've had one grandchild monitor the camera and another on the pole fishing for perch. The perch would deftly suck the bait into its mouth without a clue there was a bite. But the instant the fish did that, the cameraman would yell "pull" and they got'em every time.

Jim, if your serious about ice fishing here in Flathead Valley, look no further. Contact Pete in Kalispell. He owns a local tackle store, and works as a guide. Ice fishing is what he does best. He will put you on fish. Guaranteed. Just Google him, and you find all his contact info.

I agree. I have an underwater camera. I like it when I finally find my bait.

Hi, Jim. Gary in Kalispell. Wish I could help on Peck. Trying to plan ice time on local spots for pike. Land being posted heavy. Hard to find decent locations.

Hi Gary. I am looking for an ice fishing partner. I plan on fishing Murray Lake towards Olney and Rodgers Lake towards Marion.
Not sure about pike but am learning about Lower Stillwater.
I am sure you know Smith Lake.

Appreciate the asking! You seem to be trout focused, then. Have had great pike spots over the years but the access is drying up. Used to hit Upper SW for years in summer. Not real familiar with spots on Lower.
Kokanee consumes my overall focus once it all locks up.

I like to fish for kokanee. Do you go to Beaver Lake or little Bitterroot?

My brother is interested in pike, bass, perch and walleye.

I don't care.

Thanks
