I heard even if you get all the numbers right, you're only getting about $700 million walking away but I could live in that.

Lump sum is 900,000,000 and change, after federal income tax 600,000,000 or there abouts.

and if you live in a state with state tax might be down to 450,000,000 but I guess if you budget carefully you could live off of it for a while. I read an article out here that said the things you should do if you win.
1. don't tell anyone you won including family
2put the winning ticket in a safe deposit box (unsigned for now. )
3. hire a lottery Lawyer (I didn't even know there was such a thing)
4. hire a financial adviser
5. hire security (guess big winners have been killed)
hummm maybe I should just hope I win 10,000,000 and not have all the hassle actually 100,000 would even be nice...ok 1,000 wouldn't even be bad

I would only disagree with one DC, SIGN THAT TICKET. Then no one else can claim it, if they get their hands on it.
I'm averaging $4 so far so anything larger would be better than that.

I think if you don't sign it there might be a way to cash it in the name of a trust or something you set up that might save on taxes. that is why they said put it in a safe deposit box. besides if you die before cashing your wife could cash it....maybe she might be the cause of your death better sign it

I hear that the winner should get a safe deposit box, take pictures of the ticket but donβt sign it immediately, surround themselves with people they know and trust, get incorporated, find lawers and tax experts.
Contact a lottery lawyer first before doing anything else, the strong box second !
with that kind of money you could afford therapy

I'm with Fred wouldn't want you to go through life scared so out of the goodness of my heart I would be willing to relieve you of that burden and take the money and dispose of it in a safe way. And I see you are from Calif so if you bought a ticket you could be the winner.
