Holy cow Dakoda!!! I've experienced 2 feet over night twice within 3 weeks of each other. Can not imagine 5 feet. Feel sorry for the folks who didn't have the equipment to dig out.

jlf, I appreciate the recommendation for the correct symbol but here on the computer your procedure of using the alt key isn't working that way unless i am doing something wrong. I don't get the 248 reference.

My keyboard has a numeric keypad button that has to be activated when I wish to use the numeric keys. Perhaps yours has one also. There are many ASCII codes available and can come in handy sometimes. i.e. if you wanted to show the English pounds symbol; it's there. ( ASCII code 156: £300.00.) Isn't that handy? ASCII codes are not taught much anymore and that leaves a lot of people ignorant of this great computer function, and that is a shame.

Heavens no Jlf, no offense even thought of. The only numeric key pad on this HP is straight across the top. Mr Google not much help either. Something about alt key and press 0176.
So still smiling takes more then that to get worried about.
