OK twice a year we have the debate should we just leave the clocks the same year-round and if so what should we have standard time or daylight-saving time? Of course, we don't save any daylight by messing with the clock just shift the time of day. I am in favor of keeping standard time year-round. That is the time that most closely has the sun at it's highest point at the center of the day or high noon in winter it is darker longer in the morning and earlier in the evening, but high noon remains the pretty much constant. In the summer it is lighter earlier in the morning and stays light later in the evening, but high noon is still pretty much the highest point for the sun. While shifting the day may help some people it also hurts others so let's quit picking winners and losers and just leave it year-round standard time. When the government starts messing with things like this they mess things up. What say you

I just wish they'd leave the clocks alone. I don't see an advantage of one over the other, so pick one and leave it there.
To be honest currently I'm retired. It really doesn't matter what time it is or what day it is. The day of week or season does a little because I can avoid the crowds or what to fish or hunt for.

I'm with you DC. Standard time year round! Daylight savings time doesn't "save" anything .

I think for the country kids who ride the bus from school like getting home before dark one advantage of day light savings
The flip side of that is they would have to wait for the bus in the dark for a few months in the winter.

I used to be against daylight savings time but now I like it in the summer. I like standard time in the winter. That said, the further north one lives the more benefit there is to the change for the person working under a set time schedule. Those that say it's hard on the body probably haven't driven across a time zone.
If I had to choose only one, I would choose standard time. That way I can use my analog watch to tell direction more accurately.

At this stage in my life, my body clock gets me up and tells me when bedtime is come crappie and catfish spawning time I'll be on the water chasing them all night and sleep in the day..they may mess with the daylight savings time but it won't change my clock
Best Reply yet Passingbye, I'm like wise, when I'm tired I go to bed ,maybe not fall asleep ,but watch antenna TV, and most times wake at 4-5am , personal thing I guess huh!š¤ā

OK ? Are you personally trying to send this thread to the attic ,,hope not fellow fisherman
I always looked forward to the fall-back time change. Before I retired, it meant that I could get out to the duck blind an hour earlier and get an extra hour of hunting in before having to hustle to work.
Florida has just decided to stay on standard time perminently.
