Colorado Fishing

I finally have a section of the South Platte figured out between Broncos Stadium and 8th. Got a 2.6 pound smallmouth and 20 smaller ones plus a couple trout today. I’ve been throwing Ned rigs and tubes into the rapids before any deep hole and letting it drift with current, finesse fishing was the key this week! Hope all are having a good weekend, what a beautiful day in Colorado!!✌️🐠

as much as I would like to believe you are being truthful about the location where you claim to have caught these fish I must say, BS!!!! What do you have a condo near there where you watch to see how many idiots go try the river in downtown Denver. LOL!

So I’m sorry you think only idiots fish the Platte downtown, and no I do not have a condo down town. I’ve seen a few other people fish there but most don’t catch anything. I’d show them how but I’ve learned not to help others fish unless they ask me! Have a good day or night and hope you are catching lots of fish!✌️🐠

You should keep trying and don’t give up, you’ll catch one from there eventually! I’m just really good at what I do!!😮🐠✌️

I appreciate your posts. Congrats on scoring a nice one. I knew there were some big ones in there. I fish the S. Platte around Littleton-Englewood. I’ve caught dozens of smallmouth but I’ve never been able to break the 1lb barrier. Maybe a couple a shy over but I never weigh them. I’ve also caught some nice walleye in the early summer when they let water out of Chatfield. Thanks again for the post and pictures.

Awesome work! I’m trying to meet some folks to fish with around the Denver area. Having a newborn makes it tricky, but I’m always trying to get out whenever I can sneak away.

Fishing is about over for me in Colorado for the year, I’m not a fan of the cold anymore. Looking forward to next season though, maybe we can meet up at a spot sometime. Congratulations on your newborn, that’s pretty cool!

Fair enough. I will probably do a bit of ice fishing on the nicer days, but mostly on hold until next year myself. I’ll try to remember to reach back out.
