Heading shrimp
One of the large ones. Not many of them.
One of my good cast. Loader up in the neck around the horn

Great Pictures and information. How do you know where to throw the net?

Gordon:
Great picture and nice shrimp, noticed that you don't use duct tape around the weight edges of your net. I have been cast shrimp in the St. Johns for years and have found the slower sinking net with the tape spread really increased my net counts. Does anyone use that method in the Carolina's? Also Rock shrimp are they in the bays or only offshore?

We put 10 polls out 10 yards apart and put bit balls about 5 ft from the pole on one side. We then cast on top of the bait. Most states don't allow this method.

This kind of shrimping was done in 4 to 5ft of water. Net stays open by the time it gets to the bottom. When we deep hole (that's what we call it here) we use a net with the tape on it. Usually it's in 20ft or deeper water.

It's fish meal. Made out of menhaden. 60% menhaden. Find it at a feed store for farm animals. Think it was intended for pig feed. I use 10lb,s of fish meal and 5lb,s of all purpose flour. I add 1gal. of water and make 60 balls with that about the size of a base ball. I only use 20 per trip so I can make 3 trips with this amount. Self rising has yeast and the balls can float on you. Don't use that one.

Gordon thank you, a bit like what we use and yes the water is deeper than 4 to 5ft so I can see why no tape needed. One of the other followers ask how to find them we use our depth finders and look for smudge marks above the bottom. How about you? Appreciate your help!
