Hey guys gals, names John I just found this wonderful message board and eagerly signed up. I'm from the Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana tri state area but have within the last 2 months migrated South to the Mississippi, Tennessee, and Alabama tri state area, for those familiar with the area I'm a 5 minute drive from pickwick dam. Generally I fish for large mouths and cats, but enjoy catching anything. Being I'm new to the area I'm still not sure what else is here to fish for, any insight would be greatly appreciated.
I look forward to being a member here, hopefully lots of knowledge to be gained. Thanks for having me, cheers

I'm not one of those, but I did enjoy reading your intro. Welcome.
Welcome. You’re in a beautiful part of our state. My wife and I just got back from J P Coleman and Tishomingo State Parks. Besides largemouths you also have smallmouths, walleyes, and saugers. We don’t have those down here near the coast.

Good morning, SlkySS, and welcome to the Forum. I would find a mom/pop-bait shop and ask a few questions. Good luck!

Welcome to the Stage John. A good friend in Tennessee said that the Smallmouth fishing in Pickwick is awesome. Good luck, Tight Lines and don't forget, we love pictures.

Morning Jack, yes it is beautiful in this area, I called T J. P. Coleman the entire first week I was here. I live about 15 mins from there now, with the tail waters of Pickwick 5 minutes away. Some of the sunrises and sets are just breath taking.
Thanks also for the info, always enjoy something new to fish for. Do you do a lot of salt water fishing down that way?

I don’t fish salt water, but lots around here do. I live about 40 miles north of the coast.
