Worms and a split shot or two is the go to here in Idaho. Sometimes I use a salmon egg on top with a worm underneath on the same hook.

Great combination seafoam.
Works more often than not. Just caught a 24" rainbow on the payette 2 weeks ago with a plain old worm.

Seafoam sounds like a winning combination ! I haven't never fished in Idaho I saw some great looking rivers and streams there when I was driving a truck came through there a few times.
