Evening Laura, welcome to the Forum, I think the best trout hole in the lower U.S. is in Branson, MO., Lake Taneycomo. C & R, artificial only, in the upper part. Most of the fisher people use fly rods. I don't know if they have any camps available, but I do know they do have some excellent guides. Tight Lines.

Hey Laura, aren't these a bunch of good folks on here? Flyguy is right, Taneycomo is hard to beat. Your search made something click in the back of my feeble mind. Some 30 years ago, a good buddy and still great fishin friend of mine had his wife fly us into a place in Arkansas I'd never heard of. Pretty remote, but very accessible, I have strong memories of it being an absolutely stunning place to fish for trout. I've only fished for trout a handful of times as I'm a bass guy, but I'd recommend you take a look at this place, too. Best of luck!

They stock Lake Sahoma, the lake just north of Sapulpa, Oklahoma with trout in the winter months, but you have to buy a special permit to fish for the trout. On top of your fishing license.

There is a family fishing trout camp just east of Webber Falls, ok heading toward Tenkiller dam. (It’s called Marvel) There is a sign at the turn off. It is on the lower Illinois river, has year round trout stockings. You don’t need a special trout stamp anymore. Another good one is the Blue River down by Tishomingo but it’s only stocked in winter. They have a yearly Derby there also. Idk about Arkansas but I intend to check it out for trout and smallmouth bass.

Hello Lauramr. Welcome to the forum. Marval Trout Camp is a great camp on the lower Illinois River. It is located just a few miles north of Gore & the scenery is beautiful. The camp has cabins, a tackle shop & other services. A visitor can fish by foot up or down river from the camp. While there one can also drive a short distance & fish the waters below lake Tenkiller dam. If you're up to it you can take another short drive (less than 10 miles) & experience good striper fishing & some of Oklahoma's best catfishing on the Arkansas River below Webbers Falls lock & dam. if you love to fish you'll enjoy the lower Illinois fishery. A special trout stamp is no longer needed. Just make sure you have a current Oklahoma fishing license. Tight lines.

I’d recommend checking out Gene’s Trout Fishing Resort. Up on the North Fork river. Great fishing and great lodging. They have various size cabins to handle different size groups. Bait and tackle and even boat rentals if needed. We’ve stayed several times and always had great results and treated right.
