My brother flew into town Friday evening and stayed with us for the night. His wife was meeting up with him on Saturday afternoon to continue on to a get together with their kids. I saw my surgeon on Thursday. He said I could start weening off the boot on my foot by wearing shoes for an hour the first day and adding an hour each day. Well of course my brother and I figured that meant we could go fishing early Saturday morning.
We got up early, found a lake we could drive right up to the shore of and fished for a few hours. It was in the thirties when we pulled up to the lake, but the sun came up just as we were getting set up and it turned into a delightful day.
Apparently, we found the nursery because we caught nothing but small trout, but we did catch trout. We probably caught and released ten fish in the two or three hours we were there. I figured I wouldn’t be able to fish until spring, so this was a huge bonus. My soul needed a day fishing. To get that and the chance to hang out with my brother was way better than anything the doctor or my physical therapist have done for me lately.
Of course my phone stayed in my pocket all day, but I did get a picture of one fish and one of the lake.

Beautiful Color Pattern on your catch Stuco!!🤙🤙👍wow!!
That sure is a fine looking fish and gorgeous location. Hope you get completely back soon and get all healed up. Your thread title reminded me of the old film Sling Blade. One of my favorite lines from it was, " they turnt me loose from the nervous hospital"

Haha. Thanks Govna. I really like that movie. I started calling my wife the warden. She’s been awesome taking care of me for all this time, and I can’t state how much I appreciate her, but three months locked up in the house starts to feel like a prison sentence, for her as much as me.

Oh I bet it did..It is so nice to have such a loving and supporting wife. I am sure she is enjoying your fishing outings too. Keep on getting better.
