Thinking I might try fishing White river near Anderson for small mouth. I know there is access in Mounds State Park. Is there easy access anywhere else!

Papa you might try Strawtown on St. Rd 37, there is a Public access area near there. Tight lines!

There are two city parks - Edgewater on the east side/downtown and another on Madison Street whose name I cannot recall. From Edgewater there is a trail going east to Rangeline Road that runs along the river. This give you access from there to Mounds State Park. From Edgewater north and west along the river and throughout Anderson, there is access also.
There is also rock bass and pumpkinseed to be caught. It has been a long time, but I doubt the river has changed much - it is a lot of holes and then wadeable water. Not much in the way of crowds, either.
Good luck.
I fished the Mounds access point this past weekend. I was fishing with a fly rod and the water was very low but easy to wade the river at that point. I caught seven smallmouth moving back towards the park.

Download the GoPaddling App and it will show you all the easy access spots. If taking out where you put in the Bridge at Madison or River Bend park you can get real close to the river with parking at both. River Bend you can get the closest and the fishing is pretty good in that area. Ned Rigs is my number one bait and Whopper Ploppers are also good. If your wanting a day trip put in at one of those and float to Perkinsville. It’s a 17 or 18 River mile trip and fishing is really good from 600 West to Perkingsville. There is no take out points from Anderson to Perkinsville so that section don’t get hit real hard because of the length of the trip. I do it several times a year it’s a good trip.
