My son and I have tried a few a times for stripers at a local spot off SF bay called Larkspur Creek. After paying some attention here on the stage, we finally figured out that fall is the time, and saw some others posting pics to another app recently.

So, we got out there about 7:30, and 3 casts in I hook into my first fish. Drag was loose and it was taking line. Finally dialed it in and landed the fish. Didn’t get a length for it, but it was 4 lb 14 oz. What a blast these fish are!

I proceeded to catch 4 more. One close to the size of the first, and 3 other smaller ones. Unfortunately my son got skunked tonight.

We’ll try again tomorrow!

Nice catching LD, and good looking spot you have there. Now it's your son's turn to outfish you. Good luck to both of you on your next trip.

Size limit on Stripers is 18" with a two fish limit...FYI

Nice goin LD. If you caught a 4+ pounds it was probly 20+ inches. But like Slyclops said, you need to take a tape measure with you, OR, release everything you catch.
The game wardens were out on the Napa on Saturday. Be careful, good luck and tight lines.

We are strictly catch and release. I bring scale and tape only for data!

Thanks Saw (and Sly). We are committed to catch and release, but love the advice! That’s one of the main reasons I’m on here… 👍🏼

My family doesn’t like fish, so I don’t usually go through the process of cleaning!

One of these days soon I’m guessing I’ll keep a striper.

Lucky.... Nice goin' . What you guys call a creek is a river around here. For us a creek is usually around 15 to 30 feet across, and inhabited by tiny trout, dace, chubs, and small eels , hellgrammites & crawfish, for the most part. Still, they are often tucked away from civilization and are quiet and scenic. Catching is not often much, but a very relaxing experience nonetheless.

Yeah, there’s no way I’d call this a creek either. Maybe way up the channel where a tiny creek feeds into it off the mountain. It’s really a channel off SF bay that goes in a mile or two. Some houses with docks that have access to the bay at high tide.
