The idea of having a 14 foot kayak shipped to my house doesn't exactly make me feel good about it. Especially with what I'm getting ready to spend.
Those of you who have ordered offline and not in person, was the process smooth? Did the yak show up with damage?

Every shipped kayak I've seen has had great service if they're damaged. Depending on the company of course.

It'll be fine as long you look it over before accepting delivery. But you should look at all your packages before accepting delivery lol

Ordered my by phone from a kayak dealer in Oklahoma City. (Jackson Big Tuna kayak so I am sure it's similar in size to yours) Came in a huge Semi Truck. Open the packaging look it over WELL, turn it over and look at the bottom all of that before accepting delivery

I've ordered from ACK (two Perception Sound 10.5's in 2016) and from Quarry Springs Outfitters (Crescent Ultra Lite Tackle and Crescent Lite Tackle in Aug 2019). Both went well. I paid quite a bit for freight from Quarry Springs in Ohio, but that was the only way to get Crescents to my home in Montana at the time...now they're on ACK.
Overall was easy, but had to be home when the freight truck arrived, they called in advance and gave me a choice of time windows too.
Met them, went well, all kayaks were well packaged and padded for shipping. I did see some dents and scratches on my Crescent Lite Tackle, but nothing to at was worth throwing a fit about...honestly don't even notice them anymore.
So far zero issues with freight shipping, but if there is obvious damage or issues, turn down the shipment and contact the seller before the truck leaves.

I ordered mine through Amazon, which was delivered on a XP Logistics Home delivery truck. The biggest hassle was setting the delivery appointment since I needed to be home when it was delivered (and the trucking company was a no show on the day we setup the appointment...).
kayak arrives with all parts (seat, drive unit) disassembled and strapped to the hull. the entire boat was wrapped in cardboard, and over-wrapped in plastic.

Couple of years ago I ordered a Perception Pescador Pro 10 from ACK! It came perfectly wrapped and boxed! Not a problem!
