Posted about 2 weeks ago about a lake that had its fall overturn and caught absolutely nothing, kinda blew my mind. Never before have been skunked while pursuing panfish. Revisited yesterday and was pleasantly surprised, figured that after the turnover they’d have to have the munchies. They were in good spirits. Know you’re kinda getting tired of crappie photos so I’ve included a few of the “glamour” species.

Looks like an excellent day Brad. Your lake is back to normal. Thanks for the pictures.

Thanks Fred, still looking for that 18” crappie, this lake has an abundance of craps up to 13” and they’re thick. 4 of them will yield a plus pound of fillets. Have been using larger baits and been catching bass as well but as you’ve said previously, there’s quite a possibility that the pig crappie just aren’t there.

Sometimes they're just limited by the forage that they have to eat. Sometimes its genetic, if their ancestors never got big, they don't either. Then theres the ones that eat like pigs and grow humungous, but there's not many of them. Good luck buddy, keep searching, and enjoy the results, no matter what size they are.

Thanks Grizz, it’s a 30 minute jaunt over to NJ. Good little lake for the panfish, only 40 acres or so but is quite productive. Just perfect for my 14’ Grumman.

Nice catch! I'm used to the site and wonder if it's appropriate to ask which lake you were on?

Yeah Alan, little lake over in Jersey called Delaware lake. It’s actually a pond of about 40 acres or so but has god panfish.
