NJ fluke 9-20

Started out slow but picked up. Maybe the tide started running faster.
Some small seabass that bit fishbites when the light got brighter.
Six fluke on gulp. one was a keeper. 17 1/2" cpr
Maybe someone could ID the bottom fish?

Maybe a Pomfret? Looked up pompano first but didn't have the big eye

They catching them here at the reefs…

“Hand’s Too Bait and Tackle reports that the nearshore wrecks and reefs were producing good numbers of flounder, tog, triggerfish and out of season sea bass. The Wildwood wreck saw the most action this week with one crew reporting six flounder to 4 pounds, and five triggerfish to 3 pounds. “

Wow, that's amazing. I did read a lot of fish are moving up the coast.

It was around 3 or 4 inches.

Chunked a million of them, chumming for Tuna. Then threaded the hook through a whole one, so only the line sticks out of its mouth. Lots of fun out at the Canyons.

I believe that is a Butterfish, Very tasty but small.
