Sorry guys, I didn't get this post on my regular stage posts. I had to go into "Newest Topics".
Anyway, we got on the water bout 0630 and to the fishin grounds bout 0645. I had the first fish in the boat on either my 2nd or 3rd cast. Right at a keeper size but just too close to the 18 inch min so back it went.
Caught another one shortly after that and it too was short.
Ben started catchin fish bout then and it was back and forth with us while Jeremy was sayin, " Hey, what am I , CHOPPED LIVER?" He just wasn't holdin his mouth right for most of the mornin while we were castin.
We finally stopped getting bit castin so we started trollin. Took a little while for us to locate them but we did and started puttin Jeremy on quite a few fish. First one rod then the other. Two different times when Jeremy was reelin one in the other rod bein reeled in by me or Ben got a fish on. BUT, both of those came unbuttoned.
After trollin for awhile and landin several fish, we finally had to go back to castin. That's when Jeremy started catchin several castin along with me and Ben.
We had several doubles on and landed most of them.
We had 4 keepers in the box and wanted to finish with 3 limits but it just wasn't in the cards.
We did manage to land 1 final keeper so that brought the total up to 5 keepers. They were 24, 22, 20 1/2, 19 1/2 and 18 1/2 inches.
We did catch 5 or 6 more that were right at 18 to 18 1/4 but I don't keep them. I don't want the Game Warden to look in the box and say" Hmmm, Let me get my tape measure."
I like it when they look and say," Alright, NICE fish."
Like Jeremy said, we had a pretty good day catchin a total of 55 fish.
It was a little slow, it took the 3 of us over 7 hours to catch them.
Brad and I went out today, Saturday, and in 4 1/2 hours we caught 50.
Just have to put in your time. BUT, it helps to know where they live.
