Hey all. I am a 44 yr young female ER nurse and I'm heading back to Vilas County, WI today hoping to catch some bites! I was there in Aug and fished White Sand Lake in Lac Du Flambeau but am familiar with several more. I did LOVE that lake though! Great Smallie bite amongst catching at least one of every species in the lake.
My question is this. Where is the supposed weekly fishing report/update for the area found at? Or anyone in the area have an idea what's biting on what? I mainly try for bass or walleye... but anyway away from the hectisism of the ER is a great day!!! My dad fishes Muskie (insert eye roll here...) which sometimes kills my bite but whatever... sometimes I'll jump on board that train too but I've always caught on a jig & leech with light tackle which really burns him. Lol.
Thanks in advance!!! Happy fishing!!!
Welcome to the Stage! I would try Lake Link (focusing on Vilas County), the WI Outdoor News or the local bait shops for the most up to date info. The fishing ought to pick up very soon. Good luck and thanks for your service in the ER!
Thanks. I am planning on hitting Rollie & Helen's on my way up. They are always a good source of info

Always a good place to start!
The conversation usually starts with “You should have been here yesterday!”, but that is the built-in disclaimer from all bait shops. 😂
The fish will be putting on their “feed bags” soon as they will be trying to fatten up for Winter. Live bait should be very productive.
Good luck when you go!
