The guy was a contractor that helped me with a lot of things around here, I paid him whatever he wanted as he was always really fair to the light side, and when we could get away took him fishing and paid for everything as a perk...it was sort of a joke when we would talk about a job, he'd say I'll take care of you but you owe me a fishing day.
Super good natured guy, my wife and I are both at the pissed off stage, he was depressed over an abusive wife, and drank himself to death, literally. He'd been drinking a bottle a day of vodka like water, and had switched to 1.75's, he tried to quit cold turkey last Monday and trying to detox after three days was so bad it killed him, he should have gone to the hospital.
So I am in the need of a fishing buddy, I can get out every week or two mid week, I'm not a fan of weekend launching and boat traffic. Pardee is 45 minutes away, and I can get out more frequently if I do an on the lake early, troll for some trout or Kokanee, and switch to jigging for Kokanee, and get out of there by noon. Another lake I like is Berryessa, and I've fished Union and am looking at hitting Tullock as well. I'm open to suggestions by guys that know of "sure things", and I'd really like to target some Crappie. I'd prefer guys that have some skills as mine seem to be weak at this point...in fact for guys with skills don't worry about gas and such, just perhaps bring something good to eat.
I've got a new 18ft boat with a Mercury 115 (still trying to get break in hours on it) with a Terrova trolling motor that is great for hassle free auto pilot or setting the spot lock for jigging.
It might be a week or two before I can get out, it depends on how the things I need to get done around here go, the big one being getting my old boat ready to sell, trust me this is a big deal, but I am conditioning my wife to a new reality, that I don't have to have everything done before getting out once a week for a break, or I will never get out.
Send me a PM and we can talk a bit.
Thanks,
Keith
My condolences Keith. Should not be hard to find a new fishing partner.
Condolences, sorry to hear that. There are lots of guys here that are in that area so I think you'll be in fine shape in a bit.
Sorry for your loss Keith! Hoping someone from your area can help get you back on the water!
Hope someone near by take you up.

I started laughing at that...yes, she loves to fish, but wants me to sort out what's biting and how to catch them during the week so she can go out on weekends with me and catch fish...Lol
We are looking at renting a house that has it's own dock on Tullock over the Thanksgiving weekend, that is supposed to be an outstanding lake...so I wanted to get there to see what works and where the good trolling lanes are.

🙂👍 I'm sure somebody will take you up on your offer. I was going to say that maybe it was time you taught her how to fish good you caught a laugh from my post Good Luck and Tight Lines Wood 🎣🙏👍
Too bad you're not in Oregon. I would go out fishing with you. I would love to go fishing in Lake Berryessa. There are some big chinook salmon in that lake. I lost my fishing buddy a few years ago he moved to Seattle and I have had a hard time finding someone to fish with here in Oregon. I have a boat that I can't haul with my car and need help getting the boat to the river.

My condolences on your loss.
Maybe you can look into joining a fishing club. Does Trout Unlimited have a chapter near you?
Message me and if you feel like taking a drive down to the Napa River, I can take you out on my boat.
