Spent a few hours pre-fishing for a tournament on Wheeler on Monday... Between storms and the wind getting up I did manage to put 4 in the boat, and possibly learn a pattern to start with on Monday, we'll see... Wind got up blowing straight down the river so hard I just got tired of fighting it, and when the second storm of the afternoon was coming up the lake, I called it a day and put it on the boards... I'll attach pics of a couple of the better ones.....

Fished the tournament today, we caught a lot of fish, they just weren't big enough.... We had 11-12 pounds and it took over 20. When we saw what was leading, we just went ahead and turned our fish back.... We still had a good time, just didn't get paid to do it...

It was a mixed bag tournament, with largemouth taking the winning sacks. Something interesting came to light today about yesterdays tournament, it looks like there was a descrepency over the prize money... If what I heard happens to be accurate, there seems to be a considerable sum to be missing... If it turns out to be true, the guy putting it on will be done running tournaments around here... I know I will not be fishing any more that he has anything to do with.. But I am going to reserve judgement untill the issue is resolved... I'm sorry to hear about such things happening with our sport, but you never know when money's involved.. I do know that as tight as the fishing community is around here, the truth will come out... I do hope that it turns out to be an honest misunderstanding, and it gets straightened out before his reputation is ruined, but it already looks bad...
Sorry for no pics, we didn't take time to take any and honestly I didn't think about taking any at the ramp, I'll try and do better next time!

That's terrible Doc, if it's true. Hopefully they get to the bottom of it. Don't worry about the pictures, when you're fishing for money, the priority is different.

The guy that won it fishes a regular trail this guy puts on, and I have a feeling there next tournament will get very interesting at the ramp before blast off..... I will try and post an update when I hear how it shakes out...

There's a long bank at McFarland Park at the campground with plenty of room to bank fish... There's usually some current during the day, but I have caught some nice smallies on that bank from a boat at night....
Somewhere you might give a try....
