After waiting for almost a month to get my car back for a minor repair, was able to go fishing. Was suffering from withdrawal symptoms and bored to tears. So thought I would try DVL. There is still enough ramp left to launch. Drive in at 6:15am and only 5 cars, not a real good sign. Water is crystal clear and water temp holding at 80* most of morning. On the way to one of my old honey holes notice a couple of new islands. Catch my first fish around 6:45am, a real dink. To make a long story short, ended up with 10 fish, all very small dinks and none worthy of a picture. Talked to two other boats and they had 2 fish between them. Never saw any stripers jump, which they normally do this time of year. SoCal's premiere fishing lake is fading away, so sad. Air temp was 94* at 10:30 am, and was going to 108*, so decided to leave. Oh well, got out on the water and didn't expect much so was a good day. Will probably try Skinner after the Labor Day weekend.

Happy you are back out there! Sad situation with water levels. People didn't believe in global warming when warned many years ago. I still see idiots out watering their lawns after being told not to.
Hope the other lakes give you a good catch.

Glad to hear you're mobile again Garey. A day on the water, and some action, is better than another day on the couch. Good luck on Skinner. I'm gonna try a new (to me) lake later in the week. Another stager was catching 4 pounders from the ramp earlier in the summer. He used live bait but I'm hoping to catch some on artificials. Have a great holiday my friend.
Thanks to all! Was sure good to be out on the water again.

Was so glad to get back out there and catch. Think all 10 of the fish I caught might have weighed 4lbs together.
Good luck on the new lake Fred..........can always buy or dig some nightcrawlers. Not my style though.

Thanks Garey, not my style either. He was using shiners, and I have crankbait limitations from wake baits to deep diving and lipless. I think there's some pads there as well, so the frogs may be in play. Worst case scenario, there's always the trusty Dingers.
