Correct, not many brights for fillets. I ALWAYS smoke them and they are awesome for that. I like the Reach because it is very technical. You can be in 5 to 10 feet of water with fast current and hook into a 40lber that will pull like a sled dog.

That's Sweet Jeremy! I don't recall the crab pot puller being an option on my 67 but I wish I had it now!

Does that mean you have deployable pontoons? The Crab Davit is 12VDC for old guys like me. It is from a really cool young man in Seattle area that builds them. His uncle built them and taught the nephew how. It is a mobility cart drive wheel with the rubber removed. I just wrap rope around the metal wheel and it pulls the pot to surface. Then turn the davit to bring pot on to the bow to harvest and return females...small crab etc.

Trolling herring in shallow water with long leader about 7 ft long

Not straight Herring for me. They don't eat like salmon in the ocean. All eggs, double hook spin and glow using medium jet divers. 8ft leader off the jet. Also have used large kwikfish with a small piece of Herring wrap. Brad's Superbaits also. However after 25 years of fishing there eggs produce the best by far.
