Taking the final 2022 trip to McDonough Friday, before they close the ramp after Labor Day. Taking Dtcombs to show him around and see if he wants to get a season pass next year. Hopefully the low wind forecast is correct, and we can find a few that want to play. We'll hit the normal spots, as well as try for some deep Smallies, and maybe even a Trout.

Good luck Fred

Why do they close your ramps so early. It is just getting to be good weather in September.

Thanks Mark. I'm finally gonna try the Flash Mob Alabama rig I bought in the Spring. Of course all the usual stuff too.

Those things must feel like a brick reeling them in?

Yes it did Gary, I only threw it a few times, and trolled with it a little. Didn't catch anything on it. I used a med heavy rod, but I would recommend heavy or extra heavy.

All together maybe 1-1 1/8oz, but its a lot of drag in the water. There's 5 3/16oz jig heads plus the head and wire weight.

OK, got it but they still do not seem to understand fishing. Our local water reservoirs allow fishing year round dawn to dush. I did not fish any water reservoirs in Connecticut when I lived there and was not aware of their hours.

When I was a kid in Northern NJ the reservoirs were all strictly off limits. They were loaded with fush but no one was allowed in.
