Shelby, I have a good friend who lives on lake pomme just off of of 254. He’s a fisherman and enjoys meeting folks. He and his wife have lived there for over ten years.

Hey Shelby! Welcome to the Stage! Pomme de Terre is a Missouri lake much like where I am on Table Rock. Part of the watershed connected to both Truman and Stockton Lakes, it's a much smaller lake, but fishing opportunities are pretty much the same with one interesting difference - the corps stocks muskies each fall. Sounds like you'd like to catch crappie, and unless you're in casting distance from the bank to a bunch of trees, you're unlikely to find many except during spring spawn. Thats actually a fun time to catch crappie from the bank. If I wanted crappie from the bank this time of year, I'd use minnows on a bobber as deep as I could cast it, near any stickups that are within reach. Also, for the benefit of our readers who may not know it- you're just a handful of miles from a very well known racing venue operated by Lucas Oil. Right out in the middle of nowhere is a super big track where they do all sorts of events. As for me, I'd walk right past that track to get to fish Pomme.

Welcome fellow Missourian!! Fortunately, you are getting some good advice already. I live well away from you, but you have a great lake to fish. I catch a lot by casting parallel to the bank, not straight out. Top water along the bank under shade trees will get good bass action if you have a couple feet of water. Whopper poppers, hollow body frogs, and rapalas. You may have to give up crappie for bass, but I have had crappie action on small spinners.
Thanks , much appreciate the welcome
Nice stage , and many thanks
Lol thanks, and I do bass with same gear, pretty much as you . I never caught a crappie till I moved here. Muskies are the prize of this lake , IHear lol , my doctor catching them ..lol
Thanks for that lol .Appreciate
