No shoreline fishing. It's on the Columbia River in the middle of nowhere. Must have boat. Look up Othello WA. Look at Vernita Bridge. Down river from there at White Bluffs National Monument. For 5 weeks out of the year it rivals anything in Alaska. It's the last free flowing stretch of the mighty Columbia River.

Darn right. I spoke with a gentleman at one of the local lakes I target trout. He told me King Chinook in Alaska are fished out now. Everything is Catch and Release in many areas where you could keep your Chinook forever. So now you know what will happen. More people will come to the PNW to target Chinook Salmon if they want to take the fish home with them.

Good run, many bad quality fish caught as spawning.
Best to head down river so their fresh and edible and on their way there.

Buck ( male Salmon ) can be dark on skin and meat is still pretty good. Hen ( female Salmon ) meat changes for the worse much quicker as they get closer to spawning.
