I am new to fishing in Oklahoma (actually just getting back to fishing after about 10 years) and I would like to find out some of the lakes near Enid that have good bank fishing. I keep reading about Sooner Lake but most people only talk about the area of the Northwest end of the lake near the OGE power plant. But I really don't want to park a mile away from where Im going to fish. Is there any good bank fishing besides that area that someone can tell me about, where you can park pretty close to where you can fish? I would appreciate any information, thank you in advance.

Welcome to the forum 54. Glad to have another Okie around. I can't help you with Sooner as it's been years since I wet a hook there & it was from a boat. Hope you find a quiet shady spot. Tight lines.
Thank you for the welcome bottomcoon, guess I am just going to have to go there and see how it is for myself.

Try Noodleing!!!!
Not every redneck Okie is a noodler. I always figured I had other uses for my hands & sticking them up a hole in a creek bank was not one of them. I have gladly carried the stringer on many noodling trips but that's my participation limit. A couple years ago a guy was bitten by a cotton mouth while noodling here in Oklahoma. It took 19 doses of antivenom to keep him alive. I'm sure Sooner lake has it's share of catfish but it's known for it's hybrids in the warm water discharge from it's generators. Tight lines.
HAHA! I was just kiddin but a friend of mine used to do it by stillwater and liked it but he was a wrestler at osu! Ya cotton mouths would keep me from doing it! Good luck fishing!
