3 of us went to Fort Bragg on Monday and came back Thursday looking mostly for Salmon. Spent about half of our time trolling each day and only caught 1 silver Tuesday that we had to throw back. No kings so we spent most of our time bottom fishing and got 3 nice lings and about 20 others of various species. All good eating. Water temp was 62 degrees about 10 too warm for salmon. Some people were going out farther for tuna with varied results mostly pretty slow. Ocean was like a lake every day which you don't always see on the north coast. Came home on Thursday so I imagine the fishing there is red hot by now.

Good morning, snowplow. Welcome to the Forum, and thank you for the fishing report. Snowplow from CA, which is interesting, must be in the Northern part of CA.

Try to post a few pictures if you can next time, always like to look at pictures of water, seascape and fish & "catchers".

Hello Snowplow: Welcome, you and your handle have reminded me of a story I heard when living in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas.

An individual said he wanted to live where when he drove south with a snow shovel on the top of his car folks would say "What is that?" They would actually not recognize the tool!

However, he was getting into an area where they hang an anvil on a post and when it is sticking straight out due tot the fierce wind, that is a sign of a Hurricane! Just Sayin...RJS

Believe it or not Calif gets as much snow as anywhere else, not only up North but the whole range of the Sierra Nevada , work for the state and drove snow plow for 36 years.

I was in the road maintenance trade for 37 years in the Sierra area on Donner Summit. Average snowfall in Serene Lakes subdivision was between 400 and 500 inches a year when we used to have winters. Lots of Sierra cement as they call it.

RJS California has enough problems with summer fires and the occasional earth quake. We'll leave the hurricanes and twisters to you guys in the south.

Well, I am a reasonably good distance from the coast now, so only tornados are a threat. One never knows you might get t-boned on the road! After sitting through Hurricane Beulah in the Valley, I resolved not to do that again, just leave. Once we drove all night at about 3 to 5 MPH to get away, but it was still worth it. You lose all the food in your freezer but that is a small price to pay. Just Sayin...RJS
