My son is coming into town and wanted to make a trip to Lake George for some bass fishing. I live in Jax and typically salt water fish, but grew up bass fishing and have lots of bass tackle. However, I've only been to Lake George once and fished the river because the winds made the lake unfishable.
I'm hoping for some local guidance on lure type, color and structure type to target for some quality fish. I'm a catch and release guy. I just enjoy fishing so getting relatively consistent action is what I'm after.
Also looking for advice on the best ramp to lauch my Shearwater Bay Boat. I don't mind paying a fee, but hate to scrounge for parking.
Any advice is sincerely appreciated.

A good access ramp....actually several....located in Astor.....the ramp on the west side of river is larger.....
Lake George is tough , hurricane about 3 years ago took most of the grass out of the lake . Rodman Pool is not far from lake George and much better fishing . You will need a guide , you will break your Shearwater , if you don’t know the lake .

Thanks for the tip. I've fished Rodman a few times, it is a dangerous lake for sure. I'll talk to my son about Rodman or we may just fish the river.
