Back on May 16, I mentioned in a post that my youngest sister has COPD. Her name is Deb and my post was just in response to Rutinbuck saying he was not able to travel far because his wife has COPD. Well, Deb had moved into a nursing home, about an hour from Lawrence, because her condition was serious enough to require constant 24/7 care. Shortly after moving there, she also went on Hospice, as her condition had deteriorated fairly rapidly.
For those of you who have followed my posts for awhile, you mayhaps have figured out how close my four siblings and I are. Also that my middle sister and BIL spend their summers, since retiring, in Alaska, working as camp hosts
(and fishing!). Yeah I know - rough job, but somebody’s gotta do it!
Anyway, upon hearing of Deb going on Hospice, my sister immediately left Alaska and came back to Kansas to be with Deb. My brother lives in Colorado and my oldest sister lives in Florida, but we all keep in close contact. So……
Friday evening I get a text ( we have a “group text” set up with all my sibs) from my brother asking if we could do a group Facebook or FaceTime. We all said sure and after a few technical problems, finally got linked up; all the while, suspecting bad news was coming.
Deb had talked to her Hospice person and was told she has only 1-2 months to live. The only option available to prolong her life was to give her something for her kidneys to keep them operating longer, but would only give her a very short amount of extra time, but it also causes incontinence. She asked us what WE thought she should do.
She is a Christian and has said several times over the past year that she really wished she could “go on to Heaven with Dad and Mom”. She has been suffering for years with this disease. She has always been one who cares for others more than herself, and now she’s worried about leaving us and her kids and grandkids sad…. I told her “if you go first-lucky
you! We won’t be too far behind you, at our ages and the shape the world’s in.” So we all concurred - her comfort was all that was important to us, and we are (all five of us) going to be together before too long. We still believe that God can heal her, but He may choose to do it here or when she gets to Heaven.
Please pray for her healing or for her comfort during this process. Thank y’all so much! 🙏🏻❤️
Randy

The reason I waited till today to post this is
1. I felt we had more than enough sadness to handle the past couple days, between Ronnie and BB.
2. I’m a crybaby. 🥲

I don't know you, or any of your family. I do know that we share faith I our creator, God the Father, and in his son. And yes, we will all be joined together in the hereafter, with resurected, perfected bodies. I too suffer health issues. I put my life in the Lord's hands, knowing that his plan is perfect. My prayers have been made for your sister, and family. I only wish I could do more.
