Lots of noise and wasted petrol. I heard it was supposed to be better for wear on the engine than shutting down and restarting. If that’s correct why not have an auxiliary electric fuel pump to get the oil pressure up before starting.
I think it’s more of a cooling down/warming up situation than fuel consumption.
