Thanks Fred, the shoulder is 100% good as new. The Shingles on the other hand are eating me alive, I've seen several Doctors now and all say the same, just gotta tough it out, which I hope is soon.

Well that's half good news anyway. I hope the painful part starts fading away sooner than later buddy.

Cool morning at the lake, 62° air temp, 76°water temp. Struck out at my normal starting spot, just nibblers. Ran up to the Dam, took a picture and started fishing the shady side of the tailrace. First bit got bit off by a Pike. The water up there is crystal clear from the Zebra mussels. After retieing, I stood up to return to the stern, and the Pike was swimming along with the boat. I spent a half hour sight fishing for her but failed to get bit again. While doing that, I spotted a nice Smallmouth, maybe 3-4lbs, cruising around so I wasted another 30minutes trying to induce a strike from her. I'm 2hrs in with an 0 fer to show for it. I switched to them sunny side, and immediately caught 2 small ones 1LM, 1SM. after working down the bank about 200yds.I thought I snagged a log, but it started moving! After taking drag a half dozen tines, I see its a Larry. I got her in the net and on the scale - 5lbs 4oz. A new PB for me.
After getting her resuscitated, I continued another 300yds with no action. I ran a mile down to the Tornado trees, and picked up a 2lb 4oz Smalljaw. The rest of the way down to the ramp was just a couple more little guys. The resident waterskiers were multiplying so I called it a day.

It's been a long time coming for me Basscat. My previous PB was around 4.5lb (on a spring scale) maybe 35yrs ago. I started Bass fishing again about 10yrs ago, and only hit 4lbs a couple times. Now we look for 6+, and try to break 4+ for Smallmouth. (3lb 15oz is current PB). They're all fun, but it's nice to hit a new high every once and a while.

Thanks Hack. The nice cool, dry weather is gone again. Hot and muggy for the next week plus. That's ok, it's better than snow.

Yes sir always looking for a fatty. 4.44 LM for me and 3.51 Brownie for me. I seem to hit 3.5-4’s but I’ll get in the 5 club sooner or later. I always have fun when I go out.

Anything over 3lbs is big up here, either color, in my opinion. Our state records are OLD, and even with 10x as many people fishing for them, the records stand.
