Thanks Garey. It's definitely better having more time to put in.

Cool morning at the lake, 62° air temp, 76°water temp. Struck out at my normal starting spot, just nibblers. Ran up to the Dam, took a picture and started fishing the shady side of the tailrace. First bit got bit off by a Pike. The water up there is crystal clear from the Zebra mussels. After retieing, I stood up to return to the stern, and the Pike was swimming along with the boat. I spent a half hour sight fishing for her but failed to get bit again. While doing that, I spotted a nice Smallmouth, maybe 3-4lbs, cruising around so I wasted another 30minutes trying to induce a strike from her. I'm 2hrs in with an 0 fer to show for it. I switched to them sunny side, and immediately caught 2 small ones 1LM, 1SM. after working down the bank about 200yds.I thought I snagged a log, but it started moving! After taking drag a half dozen tines, I see its a Larry. I got her in the net and on the scale - 5lbs 4oz. A new PB for me.
After getting her resuscitated, I continued another 300yds with no action. I ran a mile down to the Tornado trees, and picked up a 2lb 4oz Smalljaw. The rest of the way down to the ramp was just a couple more little guys. The resident waterskiers were multiplying so I called it a day.

Just think Fred, when you move to SC you'll get to do the learning curve all over again.

Yeah Jim, I've thought about that. I'm hoping all the fishing shows I've watched from southern lakes, has planted the seeds of knowledge in my brain.

Thanks Fred, the shoulder is 100% good as new. The Shingles on the other hand are eating me alive, I've seen several Doctors now and all say the same, just gotta tough it out, which I hope is soon.
